Date coming soon

Druridge bay country park, northumberland

Statement Regarding SpanielFest. Event to be postponed.

SpanielFest have confirmed that the event will no longer go ahead in May due to the current global Coronavirus pandemic.

The event, which was due to take place from Friday 8th May to Sunday 11th May at Druridge Bay Country Park would have welcomed over 300 dogs and their handlers for a training weekend with seven expert trainers. The first of its kind in the area, the event had already attracted campers from across the UK with bookings more than half full.

Rebecca Earle and Dawn Oliver; founders of the festival commented “After much consideration and discussion the team have regretfully decided to postpone SpanielFest. We are unable to give a date for when SpanielFest will take place but hope to have an idea soon. Given the current climate and our event ethos, we cannot confidently continue to take bookings without the fear of cancellation at a later date. We are absolutely devastated, it has a huge impact financially not just on us but also on all of the suppliers and traders involved in the event. The health of our visitors and team are at top of our agenda and we don’t want to put people at risk”.

Anyone booked for camping or as part of a workshop will be emailed to receive a refund. To keep up with news of a new date you can subscribe at www.spanielfest.com

However, the festival organisers have reassured followers that the annual North East Dog Festival, due to take place on September 5th at Kirkley Hall, is planning to go ahead and exhibitor bookings are being accepted until the end of June. You can find out more at www.northeastdogfestival.com
